Announcements: Hiatus (Hiati?) Past and Future
Sunday Apr 28, 2019
Sunday Apr 28, 2019
Hello, I have some announcements for you to cover the last month and more and talk about what's coming down the road. For those of you who are listening it should be quick, for those that would prefer to read I have that for you too!"First and foremost thank you all for tuning in to this little announcement. I just wanted to take a quick chance to explain what all has been going on behind the scenes because there’s more than I feel can be properly covered in my usual introductory blurbs. Don’t get too excited. It’s nothing risqué or dramatic. No inter-party conflict or anything like that. Over the past couple months I’ve alluded a couple of times to some events coming up in the future. Well, one of those events was that Andrea and I were moving to a new house. At the outset I had a solid plan. A workable plan. One that had a minimum of impact on our schedule and the podcast as a whole. Of course, we all live in the real world and while I may have planned for a perfect transition from one home to another, where after a few days I’d be ready to face the world… that isn’t quite how it ultimately played out. Don’t take that the wrong way, though. Everything went well, we stayed with family for a while there, but we’re moved into our new house and settling in nicely. It just through me for a loop and unfortunately Through the Balcony had to take a backseat for a little bit.So that’s part one.Part two is what comes next, and is ultimately behind part one in the first place. My lovely wife and I are expecting another child in the near future meaning that one, we’ll need to come up with a character for her to go along with Jenkins, and two, we’re going to be in no place to play D&D for a little bit. Now, while the last hiatus caught me off guard and what I’d thought might be a week or two delay expanded well beyond that, this is something I have a plan for.Back when all of this started we had four sessions we recorded at the tail end of the first arc in Jarmaulk and the Akken dessert. The first wasn’t ever even supposed to be a podcast episode, it was literally done because Dan and Tim were playing remotely and with me knowing Dan was going to be late I thought I’d just record it for him so he could hear what he missed. What followed were three sessions where we actually started seriously contemplating what is now a reality where I had even less idea what I was doing than I do now. They are rough and raw, but are in my opinion still great sessions. It’s, sadly, not the whole arc but it should be a fun listen regardless and definitely touches on a few things that are still mentioned to this day. So we’ll be releasing those for a couple of months while we adjust to a new little one under our new roof. We’ll probably go to a three week release after that for a while and after that, only God knows. What I do know is that I am loving being able to tell and share this story. So however that plays out, that’s what I want to do. So, that’s what’s been going on in our neck of the woods. Lots going on, but al of it pretty good if a little bit crazy. We will resume episodes on Monday and release them as we make them up until the break. Thank you all for tuning in, and thank you for listening. Now that we’re all on the same page I will leave you to enjoy your weekend."

Episode 31: Broken Visions
Monday Jan 21, 2019
Monday Jan 21, 2019
So, once again we come to an episode where something went horribly, terribly wrong. This time we succeeded in pushing the record button, at least, but we had a faulty cable in the setup that made the audio... rough, to say the least. So we got together and did another recap similar to the one we did at the end of the last arc so that you can at least get the gist of what happened. However, if any of you want to listen to the uncut, super rough, hardly edited, version of that we managed to record we have a link for it here. We cover everything that happened in the recap, but if you want specifics or to hear some of our goofs feel free to check it out. Good luck.
So, without further ado, listen to us recap as 2.4.1 Drinks makes use of their time as they wait to get a teleportation sigil to Dalcenna, Thyme heads off on a personal mission, and Xanithia hunts for more of the mysterious crystals that had shown her her first vision.

Episode 0.2: Echoes of the Past
Sunday Nov 04, 2018
Sunday Nov 04, 2018
Once again we find ourselves at a break between chapters. As we wind down and the echoes of the past die off, there is one more voice that speaks out with knowledge of countless ages past.
This episode summarizes the events of the Echoes of the Past arc from the perspective of the dragonborn warlock Toraia's patron, Shiadorin. For new listeners this might be a good point to hop in before we launch the next chapter, The Old Gods' Legacy. With the other Episode Zeroes it should allow for new listeners to hop in if they don't want to wade through earlier chapters right away.
Stay tuned next week for an announcement regarding some changes to the update schedule coming later in November.

Episode 24: Of Shadows and Shipwrecks
Monday Sep 24, 2018
Monday Sep 24, 2018
The journey to Halder and the encounters with pirates have certainly been an adventure, worthy of being told by the great bard Abstinthe Artemesia. That story can only be told, however, if they, and the rest of you, can survive the inevitable battle with Warrick Bramble and the hooded figures that seem to take his commands. The battle is upon you and it will either be the end of a chapter, or the story.

Episode 23: Warrick Bramble
Monday Sep 10, 2018
Monday Sep 10, 2018
The situation in the Amastacian Isles is not great for the adventurers from Kell. Absinthe Artemesia, the Hero of Breezebay, is a captive of Warrick Bramble and on their way to hidden lair, where Bitsy lays hidden after stowing away on the outside of his ship. The rest of 2.4.1 Drinks trail behind in a ship of the Halderian fleet, far enough to stay out of sight, but hoping that they are close enough to rescue Absinthe before they are taken away on the Kraken's Bounty. There isn't much time before that meeting, whatever it is, happens...

Tales of Alia: Debut of the Cleanup Crew
Monday Aug 27, 2018
Monday Aug 27, 2018
Welcome to the first one shot episode set within the world of Alia. With enough of our crew gone on vacation we decided that instead of canceling our already delayed session we opted to run a quick game for you and even brought in a guest player! We're calling these little offshoot episodes the Tales of Alia. This one takes place about a month and a half after the conclusion of the revolution of the Circle of the Forgotten, set on the Isle of Dalcerra and deals with a few of the odds and ends left behind by a particular adventuring party. So we start at the Last Light Tavern as Biff Piff, Ripjaw Thunderface, Jack, and Hendrix Mercury respond to a summons on a job board. (And that's never gone wrong for anyone.)

Episode 22: Festival of Summer’s End
Monday Aug 13, 2018
Monday Aug 13, 2018
2.4.1 Drinks has made it to Halder to continue to aid Absinthe in their pursuit of Warrick Bramble. While the intitial landing and meeting with the royal family, who had originally sent out the call for help, was a bit more dramatic it was fruitful and allowed the party to come up with a plan to try and draw the attention of the pirates. If nothing else they might learn something. So the day of the festival dawns, and preparations for the evening's concert begin.

2.4.1 Drinks arrived in Halder fully expecting some kind of surprise to greet them. They were not however prepared for the most awkward family reunion of all time. Now they are faced with dealing with that as they try to complete the task they came to the city for in the first place: planning for how to deal with Warrick Bramble and the Kraken's Bounty.

Episode 20: Stormy Seas
Wednesday Jul 18, 2018
Wednesday Jul 18, 2018
The first order of business had been to find a ship to get them to their destination and the obvious choice for 2.4.1 Drinks was the Stormbreaker. While she loaded up with goods, the gang scattered throughout Drandiir to get some last minute supplies before heading out to sea. The voyage started peaceful enough, but as any good adventurer knows, that doesn't mean it will stay that way.
